Plain English first. This page says what Vault is, who can use it, what kinds of files belong here (and which do not), what we promise, what we don’t, and what happens if something goes wrong. If anything reads like legalese, that is a mistake — tell us and we will rewrite it.
Vault is a paid cloud storage service operated by Bright Presence Digital LLC, a Pennsylvania single-member limited liability company (Scott Rocca, Managing Member). Vault is a standalone product. It is separate from the agency’s web design, development, and hosting work. Your subscription to Vault does not include those services and vice versa.
The service: you get a private login, a portal to upload and download files, a visual indicator of how much of your plan storage you are using, and a real human (Scott) to email when something is unclear.
Anyone over the age of 18 who agrees to these terms. Individuals, studios, businesses, nonprofits, churches, municipalities, and state or local government agencies are all welcome customer types — provided the content they store stays within the Acceptable Use rules below.
Vault is built for general-business and creative storage:
Vault is not a compliant store for regulated data. Do not upload any of the following:
If a customer needs to store any of the regulated categories above, the right answer is a compliance-grade vendor (Backblaze B2 with a BAA, AWS GovCloud, dedicated FERPA-aware school platforms, etc.). We are happy to recommend.
Vault is billed monthly per published plan tier. Pricing and tiers are listed on the home page. Capacity above 50 TB is priced individually on request.
You can cancel at any time. There are no annual commitments. We do not pro-rate the current month; your access continues through the end of the paid period. On cancellation, we will provide a reasonable export window (typically 30 days) before removing your files from active storage.
If a payment fails, we will email you. If the payment is not resolved within 14 days, the account will be suspended (read-only). If the payment is not resolved within 60 days, the account and its files will be permanently deleted.
We target 99.5% monthly uptime measured at the portal layer. This is a target, not a guaranteed Service Level Agreement. Vault is operated by a single person; we are honest about that.
Customer support is provided by Scott directly. Standard response time is within one business day. We do not provide 24/7 telephone support and we do not promise sub-hour incident response.
We make commercially reasonable efforts to preserve your files: encrypted transit (HTTPS/TLS), access controls on every read and write, and regular operational review. The underlying storage architecture is monitored and upgraded as the service grows. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that file loss can never occur. You are responsible for maintaining at least one additional copy of any file you cannot afford to lose. Vault is not a substitute for an additional backup.
You own your content. Bright Presence Digital does not claim any license to your files beyond what is operationally necessary to store, transmit, and return them to you on request.
Vault acts as a data processor with respect to your content. You remain the data controller of the files you upload. We process your files only on documented instructions from you (your uploads, downloads, and deletions) and for the operational maintenance of the service.
We do not sell, share, or use your files for any purpose other than providing the storage service. We do not analyze, profile, scan, index, or extract intelligence from your content for advertising, commercial research, or any third-party product. Your files exist in the service to be stored and returned — nothing else.
We will notify you of any confirmed unauthorized access to your files within seven (7) days of discovery, including the scope of the affected content and the remedial steps taken.
You may export your files at any time through the portal. On account closure, your files are removed from active storage within 30 days. Routine operational backups may retain copies for up to an additional 60 days before being overwritten, in accordance with standard backup hygiene.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Bright Presence Digital LLC’s aggregate liability arising from or related to the Vault service is limited to the lesser of (a) the fees paid by the customer for Vault in the three (3) months immediately preceding the claim, or (b) two hundred fifty United States dollars ($250.00). This cap applies to all claims, in contract, tort, or otherwise, including data loss, service unavailability, and indirect or consequential damages.
Nothing in these terms limits liability for matters that cannot be limited by law, including intentional misconduct or gross negligence.
We may suspend or terminate an account that violates these Terms or the Acceptable Use Policy, with or without notice depending on the severity of the violation. For violations involving illegal content or threats to the integrity of the service, suspension is immediate.
You may terminate at any time by emailing scott@brightpresencedigital.com or canceling through the portal.
We will notify active customers by email at least 30 days before any material change to these terms or the Acceptable Use Policy takes effect. Continued use of the service after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Disputes will be resolved in the courts located in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, unless the parties mutually agree to arbitration.
